Welcome to our Wiki!

Web 2.0: Making the Read/Write Web Work for YOU!

The purpose of this wiki is to learn about Web 2.0. Each group will be assigned a topic to explore, and we'll use this wiki to share what you've learned. Web 2.0 means many things to many people. As you use this wiki and contribute your findings, our collective knowledge will grow as we learn from each other. That's what Web 2.0 is all about!

First, let's activate some background knowledge.

This Web 2.0 article from Technology and Learning (4.20.07) includes a Web 2.0 background, definitions, resources, and a discussion on Web 2.0's impact on education. With the advent of Web 2.0, teachers are faced with New Internet Literacies to use with students.

Each page on this wiki highlights a feature of Web 2.0, and contains the following sections:

  • Group members: enter the names of the people in your group (first names only, please)
  • Online resources: links to websites to learn more about your topic
  • Acrostic: work with your group to develop a word or phrase that helps readers understand your topic. Begin your word or phrase with the letter given on each line.
  • Big Question: a question is included to spark discussion and synthesize your reading
  • Enter your findings: this is where your group will answer the question and include any relevant information about your topic

In order to make this wiki more useful, please provide some FEEDBACK and share your thoughts. THANKS!

NOTE: To use PB Wiki's new "Point and Click Editor" please use either Internet Explorer (for PC) or Camino (for Mac) or  Firefox / Flock web browsers (cross platform). Not familiar with Flock? It's a browser that integrates Web 2.0 tools right into the interface. Check it out!
